Matt Hartford

Matt Hartford, Director at Strategic Advisors, has focused his career on advising middle market companies. Matt provides valuable ideation, insight, and detailed analytical support for the full spectrum of transactional, financial, regulatory or strategic initiatives facing business owners.

Matt began his career in the banking sector, rotating through various credit and product departments within PNC Bank’s corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh. He then tested that skillset by moving into a Relationship Management role in the bank’s new growth market of Chicago. After years of navigating the robust Chicago financial market while managing banking relationships for commercial clients, Matt moved into a more entrepreneurial role, opening a Midwest operation for an Alabama-based asset lender. Matt worked to provide collateralized financing to startup, high-growth, and turnaround companies.

Having grown more attracted to the advisory nature of his experiences, Matt committed full-time to his graduate studies at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. While completing school, Matt spearheaded Kellogg’s community outreach programs, including a citywide philanthropic collaboration with the universities of Chicago, Depaul, and Loyola. Additionally, he offered freelance consultation to local entrepreneurs, an endeavor which introduced Matt to Strategic Advisors just before graduation and joining the firm full-time.

Matt loves traveling, staying active in sand volleyball games, painting, and just hanging out with my beautiful wife, Chelsea, son, Leo, and our two cats, Fleur and Simba. Both Chelsea and Matt look forward to continuing to grow their family together.
